This year for Mother's Day we had a nice relaxing day at home. My mom and dad were out of town, so Jaren's mom Joan, the Lewandoski family, and the Cool Argyle's from Orem came over later that day for some dessert. My kids were cute and each gave me their project they made at school. Kaden's was a cute ornament with his picture. He was a little upset because the teacher accidently mounted his picture to someone elses popsicle sticks. But it still was really cute. Allie gave me a little book with a poem in it. She actually gave it to me earlier in the week, because she couldn't wait until Sunday. Jaren was also awesome and made a yummy dinner and helped with the kids all day long. I am kind of thinking mother's should have two Mother's Day a year!
Here is a funny story about Allie and Mother's Day: The kindergarten kids went on a field trip to the Clark Planetarium at the Gateway in Salt Lake City. She rode the bus down, and then she rode home with me in our car. We stopped in Bountiful for lunch at Wendy's. We were just eating and talking when out of the blue she says, 'Mom....... Do you like mirrors?' I was thinking 'oh how cute, she must have made me something at school with mirrors.' I said 'Yes Allie, I love mirrors!' Then she said, 'I was justing wondering, it doesn't mean anything.' Then she said, 'How about skinny mirrors, about my heighth, do you like those? It doesn't mean anything, I am just wondering.' It all started to click in my head that I had mentioned to Jaren about wanting a full length mirror for my bedroom. A few more minutes pass by... Allie says, 'Mom, do you like weights? I am just wondering!' She seriously had the most innocent look on her face. I was trying hard not to laugh. I said, 'I do like weights.' Allie says, 'If you could choose between 8 lb weights or 10 lb weights which would you choose? I am just wondering, it doesn't mean anything.' I started laughing by then so I asked, 'Allie have you been shopping with dad?' And she said, 'Yes, last night we did.' Let's just say we all got a good laugh at how well Allie can keep secrets. As you probably guessed, I received a full length mirror and 8 lb weights for Mother's Day! Loved them both.
