Daddy Daughter Day!

This week Jaren and his office assistant Morgan were able to do their annual visit to the elementary schools. It started out when Kaden was in Kindergarten at West Point Elementary, the teachers caught word that he was a dentist. They invited him to come and talk with the kids about teeth and what dentists do. He was such a hit, he goes every February and talks with the Kindergarten classes. We have added Buffalo Point Elementary now too, which is where our kids go now. Allie was so excited for this day. She has been waiting all month for it. We even checked her out of school so she could come and be Jaren's helper for the rest of the classes. I think Jaren does a great job with the kids. We let a couple of the kids dress up like the dentist and some like the assistants with the gloves, masks, and coat. Then he talks to the kids about sugar bugs and how to keep them from damaging your teeth. The last thing they do is show them how to brush. He has a giant push broom that he demonstrates how to brush while kids are pretending to be the teeth. He then takes rope and shows them how to floss. The kids laugh and laugh at it. At the end, they each get a goodie bag with no treats, but a toothbrush, toothpaste, & floss. Now hopefully they will use it.

Mason's Birthday

Sunday was our little boy Mason's birthday! It was 7 years ago we were living in Connecticut. Normally we do not do much for his birthday besides remember him. Being February there is usually a lot of snow up in Logan. We woke up Sunday morning and Allie asked if we were going to the graves today. I thought 'Why not?' We drove up to Logan and the snow wasn't too bad getting off the head stones. It was nice to be up there that day and spend time with my family.

GO JAZZ!

So everyone knows how big of a Jazz fan I am, and everyone knows how big of a Kyle Korver fan I am. With that being said, I was a little jealous out of all the nights I don't go to the game, LOOK WHAT HAPPENS!

Thanks to my brother Kevin and his wife Shannon who are friends with Ronnie Price and his wife! They were at that game too and invited Jaren, Kaden, and my nephew Jackson down after the game. I must say that was an awesome experience for them. Maybe someday I will be as lucky........

Jaren did want to ask Kyle Korver if he could get his picture with Kaden and him. Then have it framed and give it to me for Christmas saying 'The men in my life!' Which would have been GREAT! Thanks Shannon!!!!

Draper Temple

On February 7th, (yes Jaren's Birthday) we were able to go walk through the new Draper Temple. It was a really cool experience, especially for the kids. They were so excited to go inside a temple. We went to a church and parked and watched a short video on the temple. Then we all got on a big bus and headed up to the temple. We were lucky the lines were not too long, so the kids really enjoyed it. I think my favorite part of the temple was the Celestial Room (funny while we were there some one was proposing to their girlfriend)! When we asked Allie and Kaden what their favorite part of the temple was, they said the Baptismal Font. They thought all those oxen were pretty neat.

Happy 32nd Birthday Jaren!

New Years Day Party

On New Years Day we went up to Tremonton and spent the day playing Rock Band, sledding, eating, and more Rock Band.... It was a lot of fun! We went to Jessica's parents house where they had an awesome sledding hill. Ok, let's be honest I was scared to death to go down it.

Does this look a little dangerous to you??

Here are all the grandkids and their new PJ's from Grandma Joan and Grandpa Jay!

Here are the cute kids playing Rock Band!

Here are the adults playing Rock Band.. I know I look like a complete dork, but I had to put the one with Joell dancing.

January

An exciting thing this year (well technically last year) we did was teach the kids to ski and snowboard. We finally thought Allie was old enough to enjoy it (us included). Jaren and I haven't skiied or snowboarded for YEARS! We got us all some new (used) gear and some passes to Wolf Creek Mountain and we are off. Kaden took some lessons with his cousin Jackson at Snowbird. Then we put Allie into a private 1 hour lesson. They have both improved tons, and it's fun to see them having fun too!!!

Here is Kaden in his first snowboarding lesson! Yes it was snowing hard!

Here is cute Allie with her instructor. She was a little nervous to go with him at first but ended up having an OK time.

Who needs a lift when your instructor will pull you around?

Riding the lift for the first time!

Blogging??

So I have never been into this blogging trend that everyone is doing, and never planned on it. Until the other day I was thinking how awesome it would be to have it be my journal and scrapbook. I heard you could print it off into a book. At the end of the year print it off and wala! Way COOL! So we are giving it a shot.
